Participating Parishes in the Diocese of Kilmore and Elphin & Ardagh
KINAWLEY & HOLY TRINITY
This is a rural Parish surrounding the village of Derrylin in South West Fermanagh and is part of the Diocese of Kilmore. The Parish has three churches, the largest of which is Kinawley Parish Church situated in the village of Derrylin. Holy Trinity, Crom, which is situated on the Crom Estate approximately six miles south of Derrylin and Christ Church, Drumanny is three miles North of Derrylin on the main A509 Road to Enniskillen.
Services are held in all three churches every Sunday (9am, 10.30am and 12pm) apart from the 4th Sunday when a United Service takes place in the Parish Church. We try to offer a variety of worship experiences within the Parish giving people a choice of a short informal service (mostly Service of The Word) at Drumany, modern multimedia services at the Parish Church to more traditional services at Holy Trinity, Crom.
As a Parish we are very blessed to have two halls, one at Teemore and one at Derrylin. In the last few years these halls have been completely refurbished and further improvements are planned in the near future. These halls are used for various activities aimed at the different age groups and once a month we hold an informal healing service at 8pm on the third Sunday, rotating between the two halls. Being situated in a rural area the majority of Parishioners come from a farming background. Farming still contributes much to the local economy but in recent years large scale Industrial Development has provided employment for a number of our Parishioners.
Unfortunately over the last decade the Parish lost its local school (The Earl of Erne) at Teemore and also the neighbouring Primary School at Stragowna which has meant our primary school children have to travel some distance to be educated. Further Education for our Parish children is provided by Lisnaskea High School, Devenish College Enniskillen, Erne Integrated College, Collegiate Grammar School and Portora Royal School.
