Parishes Gather for Team Together Day

Parishes Gather for Team Together Day

One hundred and twenty delegates from around Ireland attended the Church21 Team Together Day in All Hallow’s College, Dublin. Sacrificing a few hours on St Valentine’s Day, representatives from 25 parishes began their Church21 journey in earnest.

Chairman of the Parish Development Working Group, Rev Paul Hoey, outlined the Church21 process and guest speaker Bishop Ken Good was inspirational as he shared on the topic of “The Expectant image Church”. Chris Hollies, church development consultant, introduced the Preparation Course and management consultant, Ruth Handy, orientated parishes for the facilitation process. There was some group work within and between teams and the day finished with lunch. Some parishes also had the chance to meet with their facilitator for the first time.

“Can’t wait to get started!” commented one delegate, and our prayers are with the teams as they bring the Church21 vision back to their congregations.

Twenty five parishes join Church21 Programme 2

The second Church21 Programme is now underway with twenty five parishes joining the process. Whilst not every diocese is represented, we are delighted to be working with a diverse group of churches from around the island. It is our prayer that as these parishes and their facilitators journey together, they will be enriched by each others’ experiences and together discover God’s vision for their parish and community.
